Frequently Asked Questions
What devices support dual-lens recording?
Dual-lens mode requires iPhone XS or newer with dual rear cameras (wide + ultra-wide). Single-lens mode works on all iPhones running iOS 17 or later.
How does dual recording work?
In Dual mode, the app uses both the wide and ultra-wide back cameras simultaneously, recording two separate video files (portrait 9:16 and landscape 16:9) at the same time. In Single mode, one camera feed is cropped into both formats.
Where are my recordings saved?
All recordings are saved directly to your Photos library. Open the Photos app to find them. The app never uploads your content anywhere.
Can I use the front camera?
Yes. In Single mode, tap the camera flip button to switch to the front camera. A white guide rectangle shows the landscape crop area so you can frame your shot for both formats.
Why does my phone get warm during recording?
Dual-lens recording uses two camera sensors and two video encoders simultaneously, which generates more heat than normal recording. This is expected behavior. For longer sessions, try Single mode which uses less power.
How do I review my recordings?
After stopping a recording, the review screen appears automatically. You can switch between the portrait and landscape versions, trim the clips, and share or save them.
Can I change video quality settings?
Yes. Tap the gear icon to open Settings. You can change resolution (1080p/4K), frame rate (24/30/60fps), file format (MOV/MP4), and grid overlay options.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. Dual Recorder collects zero data. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no cloud. Everything stays on your device. Read our
Privacy Policy for full details.
